Maggs & Allen's July auction took place on Monday evening and featured a wide variety of exciting lots throughout Bristol and the South West. The evening resulted in 92% of the lots on offer being successfully sold with numerous lots achieving figures substantially higher than the reserve prices.
It was standing room only at The Bristol Pavilion in the County Cricket Ground and whilst prospective buyers were showing caution in their bidding, there was still high levels of demand for lots that were realistically priced.
The appetite for garages in sought after residential locations continues to be as strong as ever which was evident with the sale of a double garage on Elliston Lane in Redland. The garage was guided at £30,000 - £40,000 and eventually sold for £70,000 under strong competition from local bidders.
Another lot that generated high levels of interest in the lead up to the auction was 189 Marksbury Road in Bedminster. This 3 bedroom semi-detached house was in need of complete refurbishment and the guide price of £65,000+ reflected the fact that there was only 42 years remaining on the lease. This did not deter bidders and some highly competitive bidding in the auction room resulted in an eventual sale price of £168,000!
